Austin successfully defended his masters thesis on 01/11/21 and completed all degree requirements for graduation. Congratulations.
Tony received a grant of $327.19 from Office Undergraduate Research for conducting his research sponsored by Massachusetts Space Grant Consortium.
Congratulations to Md. Fazlay Rabbi and Christopher Meninno for acceptance of your manuscript titled “Damage monitoring of conductive glass fiber/epoxy laminated composites under dynamic mixed-mode fracture loading” in Materials Letters. In this work, electro-fracture response of glass/epoxy laminated composites embedded with carbon nanotubes and reinforced with micro carbon fibers between the laminates was studied along with modified Hopkinson pressure bar & high speed imaging.
Anthony Encarnacion received NASA fellowship grant from Massachusetts Space Grant Consortium to conduct research on damage sensing in composites under projectile impact loads. Anthony is junior in Mechanical Engineering and he recently joined Prof. Chalivendra research group in fall 2020.
Chris Meninno’s recent manuscript as first author was accepted for publication in Journal of Reinforced Polymers and Plastics. In this manuscript, he conducted research on electro-flexure behavior of hybrid jute/flax laminated composites embedded with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and reinforced between the laminates using micron sized carbon fibers using electro-static flocking. This work is supported by National Science Foundation (NSF) through grant of CMMI-1563040.
